PURPOSE: Renew Computers receives
donations of computer equipment from corporations and individuals
throughout Marin County. Our donors are assured that their equipment
will be recycled in a way that will best benefit the community
and the environment. We appreciate this opportunity and in turn
wish to donate back to the community as much of this equipment
as we can.
DONATED EQUIPMENT: Technology is changing rapidly. Most of the donated equipment we receive is outdated or surplus and usually comes from a corporate network environment. Network machines as donated to us are usually of little use to the average user because they often do not have current operating systems and adaquate word processing applications. However, in many instances we are able to refubish these and offer them to the community at a discounted price.
We offer donated and refubished systems to the community at a price of $150.00. We supply these computers to ANYONE in need provided they are referred to us by a nonprofit agency within the County. Typical configuration of a donation machine: Intel Pentium 4 Processor, Windows XP Home, 17" Color Monitor (CRT), 512 MB ram, 20 GB Hard Drive, Keyboard, Mouse, Cables, Internet Ready with Word Processor, Spreadsheet, and Virus Protection software applications. These machines all come with a 90 day Service Warranty
ADDITIONAL COST: If you require a system that has more features than described above, we will be happy to build one for you. However there may be some additional costs involved. We will only charge for new parts that we must purchase from outside sources, e.g. CD Burners, Wireless Cards, Speakers, etc. Please contact an agency to see if you qualify for a referral, or call us for an application.
